The family sized accommodation makes for a suite getaway at the Graduate Hotel in Richmond Virginia.

I had planned an extended family trip to Richmond, Virginia before we knew we were moving to Austin. It turned out to be a great pit stop before our long drive. We spent a couple days in Richmond and while we were there we stayed in the family suite at The Graduate Hotel.

A great space for the whole family

The family suite is a two room accommodation with a master bedroom and a living room. The master bedroom has a king bed and a separate bathroom. The living room has bunkbeds, a pullout couch bed and another bathroom. The space was perfect for the family trip we planned. We gave my parents the master bedroom and then Martin, Ooey, our two dogs and I occupied the bunkbeds.

Amenities that make it easy to stay in.

The hotel is located in the heart of Richmond, but has so many amenities it would be easy not to leave. And actually when we arrived on Friday I had good intentions of going out but instead we ate at the hotel restaurant and lounged around, it was quite nice. We had breakfast at the hotel the following day, the steal cut oatmeal was pretty good. And it’s worth noting, coffee comes with one free refill! (There’s also a seasonal rooftop pool but it was closed during our visit)

We took the dogs for a stroll in the surrounding neighborhood, a charming area of downtown. We walked by one bar where the staff came out to hand deliver dog treats to our girls.

Tell all your friends, the Graduate is a great family destination!

I’m definitely sold on booking family suites, and I especially enjoyed our stay at the Graduate. This quirky little hotel is ideally located to some other fun Richmond attractions, I’ll save that for another blog post. And if you’re not in Richmond fear not, they have other locations which you can find, here.
